Be About Your Paper Ma!
As an aspiring natural hair vlogger, blogger, and brand it is so important to me to be on the lookout for other up and coming brands that speak to what I am trying to convey. When I was introduced to 14 year old Trinity, owner of @BlackVibeTribe I knew IMMEDIATELY that she was one to stand behind with support and love. At the young age of 14 Trinity is carrying herself and promoting self love in a way I could only wish that I had at that age and I strive to model now for my own daughter.
When I logged onto her website, www.blackvibetribe.com, I was pleasantly surprised to see the immediate positivity, how well it was put together, and all of the options available. I chose to purchase “Be About Your Paper Ma” for so many reasons. Those 5 words represent what I remind myself everyday. It’s not just about money, and I’ve certainly learned that no amount of money equates to total happiness. “Be About Your Paper Ma” reminds me to stay focused, it reminds me that I have a bigger goal that I cannot lose sight of. There are so many things around us that can be a distraction, and pull us away from what we work hard to achieve. I learned this first hand this past year. Although all mostly positive, I have let other obligations deter me from giving my all to what I vowed to get off the ground this year, my brand. I have let self doubt, grueling work schedules, obstacles, and self created pressures all keep me in a space that left me feeling like there’s no way I can do it all. I began to feel like there is no way I can HAVE it all! How can I possibly be an amazing wife, a nurturing and present mother, an attentive daughter, a supportive sister, a socially available friend on top of creating a brand that puts me “on the map”?!? I found myself asking myself this question daily. I spent more time on wondering, worrying, and doubting my capabilities I forgot one important thing. I forgot to just go for it! I got lost in the idea that I had to be amazing at it all, at all times. I needed a reminder that I had to give what I could, to what I could, when I could. Doing something everyday, no matter how small, is better than nothing at all. When I decided to stop being my own distraction, to stop expecting perfection in all things, I realized how much more of an impact I could make in all areas of my life.
Being that Trinity is only 14, and has managed to display so much strength and knowledge in such a short time on this earth (seriously have yall checked out her newest IG video “Viral”?!?) she was a part of the reminder to me to just go for it! We as woman need to support one another and remind each other to “Be About Your Paper Ma”! Focus! Don’t be afraid to start over if you have to. Show up for yourself and your dreams…everyday! Do what you can even if it’s not as much as you would like to have done. Stay consistent with your goal and you will get there. A lesson it may have taken me far to long to learn, but a lesson learned better late than never! Xo
